The Iowa Initiative for Scientific Imaging and Conservation of Cultural Artifacts (IISICCA) invites applications for proposals that apply advanced imaging techniques to the study of cultural heritage objects, including, but not limited to, art objects and books. Preference will be given to projects which make use of imaging resources on campus, for the study of cultural heritage objects either on campus or at other institutions within Iowa. On the other hand, proposals to bring other imaging equipment to campus (for example, through facilities at the Iowa Institute for Biomedical Imaging) will also be considered.

Funded projects will present their research to the monthly colloquium of IISICCA in Spring 2022.

Eligibility

All UI researchers and faculty are eligible. Teams must consist of members from at least 2 different department, for example, a STEM field related to imaging and an arts, humanities, or conservation discipline.
